Abstract

This study investigates weight optimization for industrial lift platforms by comparing traditional metallic structures with composite sandwich configurations. Using CATIA for CAD modeling and ANSYS for Finite Element Analysis (FEA), the research evaluates equivalent stress and total deformation across various cross-sections. The study examines Triangular, Rectangular, and Circular geometries for both plain carbon steels and composite materials. Results including stress and deformation compared with more than three composite material and shape configurations, offering a versatile and economical solution for industrial applications.
